Needs Convenience has engaged Modern Media as a partner to design and build their web presence and digital promotion of their Fall “Win It” Campaign.
Atlantic Film Festival recently engaged Modern Media to develop and implement a fresh new approach to digital marketing. One of the first tasks was to redesign, build and launch a new website. This new website boasts a modern, clean design with an easy to navigate interface for their audience of film goers, festival partners and film makers. With alFresco Filmfesto debuting the Summer of Murray on Friday, June 22, it was a perfect opportunity to introduce the new website.
When amendments to the Electricity Act (Bill 64) passed in May 2010, the NS Department of Energybegan seeking a technology partner to build a Renewable Electricity Approval System to support Nova Scotia's Renewable Electricity Plan (REP). The plan lays out a clear legal requirement: 25 per cent renewable electricity supply by 2015, using only made-in-Nova-Scotia sources. The plan involves the use of a combination of sources like hydro, wind, solar, biomass, and tidal.
After an RFP was submitted to multiple vendors, Modern Media was awarded the contract to build nsrenewables.ca, a comprehensive content managed platform featuring a one-window electronic approval management database/website that helps to streamline application review, approval, and audit activity. The site enables applicable community-based project developers or registered groups to apply and receive Ministerial Approval so they can proceed to the next stage of the process with Nova Scotia Power for interconnection to the distribution system. The site is also being used to educate and inform Nova Scotians about renewable energy regulations and activity.

The pay-offs of the REP are significant: reduced emissions, price stability, and many new jobs. In fact, the plan is expected to generate roughly $1.5 billion in investment and 5,000 to 7,500 person-years of employment. Many of these jobs have already begun. And opportunities will continue to emerge. There are opportunities for every Nova Scotian, through an enhanced net metering program or through the feed-in tariff for community-based projects.

When Modern was engaged by Acadian Seaplants Limited to redesign and rebuild their website last Fall, we knew a global perspective was required; however, their global presence became especially clear when senior team members and clients from Ireland made a point to send their warm regards within the first week or the site launching to the ASL team and to Modern Media.

Since then, we have continued to work with ASL on maintaining an exceptional site presence, with search engine optimization (SEO) work and the rolling out of additional language sites (first Spanish, now French. This has allowed ASL to penetrate into more markets and showcase their rich Atlantic Canadian roots and broad product offering on a Global scale.

Modern Media would like to congratulate our client Acadian Seaplants on achieving Platinum Club Member status with Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program in 2010 by retaining their Best Managed designation for more than six consecutive years.   Acadian Seaplants Limited (ASL) is a globally recognized industry leader in the processing of seaweed-based products for food, biochemical, agricultural and agri-chemical markets worldwide and in the cultivation and processing of unique seaweeds for Asian and other global food markets.

In addition to this recent accomplishment, Acadian Seaplants also just launched a new global online presence with the help of the Modern Media team. Acadian Seaplant’s new corporate website is an attractively branded vehicle that’s being used to effectively market goods to purchasers from across the Globe. The bilingual website was built by Modern Media’s in house development team on a custom open-source content management system.

Vinvox is a telematics company that features a suite of solutions that enable authentic interactions between vehicle owners, dealers and manufacturers. It works by the Vinvox transmitter sending real time data from the vehicle to the VIP (Vinvox Interaction Platform) which processes and sends the information to the vehicle owner, dealer and manufacturer.

As a new company that was growing quickly, Vinvox had the challenge of establishing themselves in the marketplace – they needed an edgy, fresh logo and brand identity. They also needed to launch their online presence as they were scheduled to attend multiple automotive conferences and debut their product. Vinvox engaged our partner company, Hawk, in Moncton, NB to create their branding, and also teamed up with Modern Media to build their website.

Modern Media created a clean, informative website that highlights the VIP (Vinvox Interaction Platform) and was built with a content management system that allows Vinvox to easily update their site. The website is user friendly and features a fun video that engages the user and explains the Vinvox solution.

One of the exciting aspects of the Kameleon Jewellery product line is that each of its jewellery pieces can be fitted with any of Kameleon’s interchangeable Jewelpops, providing customers with the ability to create unique looks to suit each of their individual styles. This “interchangeability” creates a high level of product engagement in a retail setting, but providing online customers with this same type of shopping experience has always been challenging for Kameleon.
